The Institute of Informatics in the Faculty of Computer Science and Management is a recently established, dynamic educational and research unit active in the field of informatics and its practical applications. The Faculty of Computer Science and Management has been granted to the Research Category 1 by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The Institute of Informatics organizes many domestic and international scientific conferences, e.g.:

International Conference on Systems Science (ICSS),

International Conference on Multimedia & Network Information Systems (MiSSI),

International Conference on Information Systems, Architecture, and Technology (ISAT),

International Conference on Computational Collective Intelligence - Technologies and Applications (ICCCI),

Conference on Software Engineering (KKIO),

Conference on Real-Time Systems (SCR),

and takes part in the organization of:

International Conference on Intelligent Information and Database Systems (ICIIDS),

KES Symposium on Agent and Multi-Agent Systems: Technologies and Applications (KES AMSTA).

Many scientific research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MS&HE), the European Union and industrial centers are conducted in the Institute. The Institute publishes the scientific journals: e-Informatica Software Engineering Journal and Systems Science.

 

The research and teaching staff consists of 86 persons (Dec. 2012), including 8 professors, 8 WUT professors, 3 habilitated assistant professor, 42 assistant professors, 15 assistants, 4 associate professors, 6 senior lecturers and lecturers. More than 1000 students, including 78 PhD students, are taught.
