About me
Photo of meI am an associate professor at Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland), Faculty of Information and Communication Technology. My research is conducted at the Department of Artificial Intelligence.

My main research is focused on computational social science / social network analysis, in particular:
  • diffusion processes in social networks (e.g. social influence),
  • temporal networks, recently also data streams,
  • machine learning for analysing above mentioned phenomena,
  • blockchain solutions and analysis.

I earned the PhD degree in Computer Science in 2014, and Habilitation (D.Sc.) in Information and Communication Technology in 2022.

I am a member of a Data Science Group at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

In 2017 I established and since that time I lead BERG - Blockchain Exploration Research Group that is doing research on blockchain understood as a complex network.

I actively work on developing the sci·cup platform that enables data scientists to participate in data-driven contests organized by companies.

My PhD supervisor was Professor Przemysław Kazienko.

2022-08-03 The publication "Temporal network epistemology: On reaching consensus in a real-world setting" previously published as an arXiv preprint has been accepted to Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science and is available at https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0074992 (open access).
2022-08-02 In the work "CasSeqGCN: Combining network structure and temporal sequence to predict information cascades" recently published in Expert Systems with Applications we propose a CasSeqGCN model that combines information cascades embeddings and LSTMs to predict future cascades' size. The research on this topic has been conducted in collaboration with researchers from Southwest University (China) and is available at https://doi.org/10.1016/j.eswa.2022.117693 (open access).
2022-08-01 The work "Improving Cellular Automata for Distributed Ledgers" mentioned in the previous news has been published and is available at this link.
2022-03-15 The publication in which a mechanism leading to reducing metastable cases for cellular automata algorithm in distributed ledgers has been proposed was accepted for presentation at the 3rd Workshop on Secure IoT, Edge and Cloud systems (SIoTEC) 2022. The work has been co-authored with Piotr Macek, Daria Dziubałtowska and Bartosz Kuśmierz (all from IOTA Foundation). It is titled "Improving Cellular Automata for Distributed Ledgers" and the link to it will be provided after publication. The research on that topic has been conducted within the BERG group.
