main research interests include:
- Evolutionary algorithms: specialized genetic operators, coevolution, multipopulation and parallel computation
- Metaheuristics and heuristics solving optimisation problems
- multi- and many- objective optimisation
- Discrete optimisation: graph coloring problem, university course timetabling problem, production scheduling
- practical problem solving, e.g. scheduling, timetabling, resources allocation...
- Data mining: knowledge discovery in databases, machine learning, financial data mining
